Lunch with Liezle

We decided to meet up on Friday morningish and hop a bus to somewhere, get off, find somewhere to eat and go to work. It was a really nice day and we walked around a bit before we decided to go to this place that served gimbap (kimbap), which I had never eaten. Liezle's school provides 1 meal a day to the teachers. A fair amount of school do this. Some schools provide 2-3 meals. It's nice because 1- free food and 2 - she gets to try stuff out and ask what it is.

So we had another episode of pointing and guessing, but luckily we got what we wanted. Gimbap is sushi-esque. It's rice and veggies (and I think a small piece of crab) rolled up in seaweed. This gimbap was very good. We shared that roll, which was about $1.

Close up - carrot, maybe egg?, pickled radish

Then we each had bibimbap - rice covered with veggies, seaweed & meat strips and an egg, that you mix together with red pepper paste. This picture is pre-paste and pre-mixing. It's also good. There were lots of people that came in and out while we were there and we people (and food) watched.

Bibimbap - carrots, cucmbers, seaweed, beef, bean sprouts, cabbage
